Day 119: A bug's-eye view

This kind of looks like I went really low to the ground to take this shot (hence the title of this post)...but in reality, these tiny flowers are in a hanging planter in the backyard - so this was taken at eye level!

Day 118: Blast from the past

Remember these portable CD players?  They are not 'that' old...yet seem so obsolete with today's ipods and other mp3 players! 

Day 117: Rabbit food

More leaves for today...this time edible ones!  My attempt at being healthy.  Haha. 

Day 116: Waiting

I'm waiting for some more blooms on the hyacinth plant.....and I'm also waiting for the rain outside to stop!

Day 115: It's raining again

This has been a very very wet Spring!  I just hope that all those wildflowers I'm looking forward to seeing will be coming up in leaps and bounds!

Day 114: Happy Easter!

No Easter eggs today...but did get to enjoy some chocolate-dipped strawberries....courtesy of my sister-in-law.  Happy Easter to everyone! 

Day 113: A beautiful Spring day

It was a beautiful sunny day today.  The yellow trout lillies and bloodroot flowers had bloomed, while other plants were still in the bud stage.  In addition, colourful insects and butterflies were also seen.

Day 112: Waiting

I think I can do a better job photographing this hourglass....but this will have to do for today.  

Day 111: Fruit tea

Some 'wild cherry' fruit tea - a combination of cherry, hibiscus, apple and rose-hip peel.  Not sure how appetizing this looks...but it sure tastes good!

Day 110: Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is the special occasion.

Five years ago today, my boss at the time was tragically killed in a traffic accident, while cycling to work.  This day always makes me think about how fragile life can be and how you should really treasure the people in your life and not take anything for granted.

Day 109: Colour your world

For the middle of April, it's still so cold and gray outside!  So I decided to make my own colour!

Day 107: Go green

BBQ'd some burgers for lunch....despite the strange rain/snow mix that was falling from the sky.  I thought that the pattern in the lettuce leaves looked interesting enough for today's photo! 

Day 106: April showers

It's been pouring all day today...and the forecast calls for more of the same tomorrow!  Ugh!  This is a close-up of raindrops on a bottle of laundry detergent...after coming home from shopping.

Day 105: Organize your life!

I have a bit of a basket obsession (haha) - they are great for hiding all the clutter and keeping things organized.  When I saw these baskets at the dollar store, I couldn't resist. 

Day 104: Spelt

I was trying to be 'healthy' and picked up some spelt flakes from the bulk store - had to balance out all the other junk food!

Day 101: BBQ season!

We broke out the BBQ this past weekend - burgers on Saturday and lamb on Sunday! 

Day 100: 100 days!!

Day 99: Flowers and chipmunks and bugs! Oh my!

Went for a long walk in Lion's Valley Park today - first time seeing flowers and insects this year!  Such fun!

Day 98: Rubik's cube

Remember these?  This is a small keychain actually.  I don't think I ever solved the whole thing. 

Day 97: Mind block

In analyzing some data from work, I found myself trying to solve a 3rd order polynomial equation.  Yikes...I don't remember anything from highschool math!  In the end, I found a way around my problem....I simplified my data set, and voila!  Didn't have to delve into higher order algebra!   

Day 96: Around the bend

I posted the colourful bowls yesterday....so here are the corresponding lids.  Converted to black/white (well..the lids are white anyways) and upped the contrast to make it a bit more interesting.

Day 94: Coffee addict

I try not to have coffee in the evenings, since it affects my sleep, but sometimes I just get a craving!  At least with decaf, it's not so bad...I think! 

Day 93: The excavator

They are widening the road by our house - so there's all this heavy machinery around....abandoned for the weekend.  Probably shouldn't have gone traipsing through a construction site (there was a huge, deep hole in the ground!), but I wanted to get a shot of this excavator.  Photography can be a dangerous hobby sometimes! 

Day 92: Signs of Spring

Went for a long, relaxing walk in the forest today.  The sun was out and it was warmer than it's been in a while!  So nice!

Day 91: Adventures in babysitting

Spent the evening babysitting my niece and nephew, while my sister-in-law and her husband went out for a rare 'night on the town'.  The amount of toy cars, trucks, fire engines, you-name-it, that my nephew has is mind-boggling!
