Day 365: This is me

The last day of the year!  The end of my project 365.  It was a great experience and I got to see some really awesome pics from other blog posters.  I will not be continuing another project 365 for 2012 - but only because there are other photo projects I would like to work on, and I just don't have the time to do it all!  If anyone would like to keep in touch - you can find me on flickr...here is the link to my flickr photostream - check it out if you have a chance.

I wish you all a Happy New Year and continued success with all of your blogs!

Day 363: Visit to the zoo

We visited the zoo today - it was so cold outside - only the polar bears seemed to be enjoying the weather!

Day 362: Snack time

Some colourful veggies and dip made a nice snack.

Day 361: Circles

Up close and personal with a red onion!

Day 360: Front door

The Chirstmas wreath hanging on our front door...as seen from inside the house.

Day 358: Twas the night before Christmas

We will enjoy a Christmas Eve dinner tonight with my husband's family - then it's back home to unwrap some more gifts!

Day 357: Last minute wrapping

A close-up abstract of one of the Xmas gifts I wrapped today.

Day 356: First day of Winter

First day of Winter...and no snow in sight.  Oh well....I'm sure it will get here eventually.

Day 355: Juicy fruit

A succulent kiwi....always wanted to do one of these close-up kind of shots!

Day 354: Self-portrait

Christmastime wouldn't be complete without a Christmas ornament self-portrait!  haha.  Should have cleaned up the living room a bit before taking this picture!

Day 353: Gift bag abstract

A colourful abstract of some gift bags....under the Christmas tree.

Day 352: Christmas decor

Do not have any real poinsetta plants this year....this artificial one will have to do for now.

Day 351: Cherry

Picked up some Rainier cherries today....soo good!

Day 350: O Chirstmas tree

Just playing around with the lights on the Christmas tree.

Day 349: Memories from the beach

A few tiny shells....collected on the beach in Turks and Caicos.

Day 348: New Christmas ornament

We continue our tradition of adding new Christmas ornaments....from the various places we've travelled to over the past year - this one being from the Caribbean.

Day 347: Necklace souvenir

Close-up of a shell necklace I bought in Turks and Caicos.  I liked how colourful it was and all the different patterns in it.

Day 346: bonbons

We will be having a small get-together (Sunday Brunch) in early January to celebrate my parents' 45th wedding anniversary.  I picked up these chocolates today to give away as thank-you gifts to the guests.

Day 345: Unpacking

Lots of unpacking, laundry, etc today.  Back to 'reality'!  Here is one of the souvenirs we bought, for a friend of ours.

Day 344: Last day on the beach

Flew home today.  Spent the few remaining hours in Turks and Caicos on the beach....enjoying the view....one last time.

Day 343: Boat cruise

Went on a neat boat cruise this afternoon.  Got to do some snorkeling and also visited 'Iguana Island'.  Unfortunately, we did not see any iguanas.  Oh well.  Was still a great cruise.

Day 342: Evening on the beach

Spent most of the day in water....first the beach...then the water park...then the pool.  Tough day, huh?!  Haha.

Day 341: Caribbean wildlife

Found this little guy (an Egret?) on one of the lawns this afternoon.  Got as close as I could...without scaring him off!

Day 340: Sunset in the gazebo

My husband and I took a short walk today before dinner, and found this cute little gazebo overlooking the sea....with some couches inside.  It was so nice to sit down in and enjoy the sights and sounds of the rolling waves.

Day 339: Sea turtle

Took a long walk on the beach this morning.  On the way back, we spotted this sea turtle - swimming parallel to the shore.  Had to have fast reflexes to catch this guy, when he quickly popped his head out of the water!

Day 338: On the beach

Yes....this is what I did today.  It was so nice and warm out (or should I say 'hot'!).  I enjoyed soaking up the sun.

Day 337: We're here!

We arrived at the resort in Turks and Caicos today!  Palm trees and flowers everywhere - how nice to see in December!

Day 334: Getting ready

We had our first glimpse of snow today....just a bit that didn't even stay on the ground for too long.  Still, it made our upcoming Caribbean trip even more enticing!

Day 333: More Christmas preparations

I've already wrapped up a few Christmas gifts...and it's not even December yet.  A definite first for me!

Day 332: Christmas cards

Our upcoming trip down south in early December has forced us to get more organized and have things done a lot earlier than normal.  The Christmas cards going overseas are all written out and ready to be mailed!

Day 329: One month to go until Xmas!

Another souvenir Christmas tree ornament from our Newfoundland vacation.

Day 328: Memories of Newfoundland

We often buy Christmas tree ornaments as souvenirs of the different places we travel to.  It is nice, when we decorate the Christmas tree, to look back at all the different places we have gone to over the years.  The tree isn't up as yet this year....but the souvenirs from this summer's vacation are ready and waiting.

Day 327: Crystallized ginger

A close-up of some crystallized ginger.  Makes a sweet and also hot (!!) snack.

Day 316: More work

Had to go into work today for a bit.  I work in a research lab and here is one of the microscopes that we use.  If you look at the bottom of the 'scope, you'll see an old Nikon D70 camera attached!
