Day 149: Summer goodness

Nothing says summer like some juicy watermelon!

Day 148: Niagara Botanical Gardens

Spent the day at the Botanical Gardens in Niagara Falls.  Had a great time photographing all the beautiful flowers.

Day 147: Ribbit!

A froggy from yesterday's outing to the park.

Day 146: Take off!

Not the best focused image...but I really like the reflection that I caught.  Sometimes cloudy skies are good!

Day 145: Dandelion

It's that time of year.  Dandelions all around.  Gotta take a few shots at least!  Haha.

Day 144: Butterfly!

I just love this time of the year.  There's always something neat to take a picture of!

Day 143: Marigold

Visited a greenhouse today and bought several different plants for the front and back yards.

Day 142: Summer time

The weather has been really warm in recent days, despite the occasional rain.  Nothing says summer like a sweet, juicy mango!

Day 141: A beautiful day

Saw a matinee performance of 'The Grapes of Wrath' in Stratford Ontario this afternoon....then spent some time enjoying the flowers in the Shakespearean Gardens.  Upon arriving back home later in the day, we found an adorable baby bunny in our backyard!

Day 140: In loving memory

It's been a tough last few days.  My mother-in-law passed away on May 18 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.  We had a small funeral service today and these flowers were part of an arrangement that we placed in the cemetary.  May she rest in peace.

Day 136: Will this rain ever end?

Some flowers in the backyard planter - about as far as I'm venturing outside in this cold, wet weather!

Day 135: Weekend cooking

Oftentimes when I am cooking on the weekend, I like to enjoy a 'beverage', which is usually a lime cooler.  Reminds me of that saying: 'I like to cook with wine...and sometimes I even add it to the food'!  haha.

Day 134: Dinner

For dinner tonight we had what we call our 'St. Patrick's Day dinner'....because we first made these breaded fast-fry steak sandwiches on St. Patrick's Day, several years ago.  We usually eat them with a cucumber salad - so good!

Day 133: Rain rain, go away!

The forecast calls for rain...and lots of it!  Ugh!

Day 132: Be still, my beating heart

The bleeding heart plant in the backyard has finally bloomed.

Day 131: Housework!

Ironing clothes the bottom of the iron became my picture of the day.

Day 130: Leaves are out

Thought I'd re-visit the same tree from last Friday.  The buds have opened up into leaves in such a short time!

Day 129: At day's end

Went down to the lake this evening.  Spotted the goslings again...all huddled together at the end of the day.  How sweet is this!

Day 128: Happy Mother's Day!

We took my parents out for a Mother's Day lunch today, then it was back to our place for dessert and coffee.  This 'turtles' cheesecake, from a local bakery, was terrific!

Day 127: Cuteness overload!

Borrowed a lens (80-200mm, f2.8) from a friend and headed down to the lake to try it out.  Wanted to photograph some birds and was pleasantly surprised to see some Canada geese with their goslings in tow.  These little guys were so adorable!

Day 126: Buds

It was kind of rainy out, and I didn't feel like stepping outside - so I decided to point my camera through the window to the tree outside the front of the house.  I think it would be neat to take this same shot in a week or see how fast the buds develop into leaves.

Day 125: The wave

I liked this wavy leaf from a ficus plant we have in the house.

Day 124: Serendipity

I was in the backyard looking for something to take a picture of...when this falcon zipped by - out of the blue.  I'm surprised that I even got some usable shots!  Good reflexes, or what!  haha.

Day 123: They are coming

Some bleeding heart flowers in my backyard...just poking through.  Can't wait for them to fully bloom!
