Day 334: Getting ready

We had our first glimpse of snow today....just a bit that didn't even stay on the ground for too long.  Still, it made our upcoming Caribbean trip even more enticing!

Day 333: More Christmas preparations

I've already wrapped up a few Christmas gifts...and it's not even December yet.  A definite first for me! 

Day 332: Christmas cards

Our upcoming trip down south in early December has forced us to get more organized and have things done a lot earlier than normal.  The Christmas cards going overseas are all written out and ready to be mailed!

Day 331: Christmas decor

Took out some of the Christmas decorations today.....haven't finished the tree as yet...but hopefully soon.

Day 330: Chocolatey goodness

Some freshly baked chocolate croissants.....from the local bakery.  Soo good!

Day 329: One month to go until Xmas!

Day 328: Memories of Newfoundland

We often buy Christmas tree ornaments as souvenirs of the different places we travel to.  It is nice, when we decorate the Christmas tree, to look back at all the different places we have gone to over the years.  The tree isn't up as yet this year....but the souvenirs from this summer's vacation are ready and waiting.

We've amassed quite a collection of empty wine bottles....time to collect our deposits on them!

Day 317: Christmas cactus

My husband picked up this small Christmas cactus plant the other day.  I had never seen one like it before.  I'm sure that there will be more pictures of this plant appearing on future blog posts!

Day 316: More work

Had to go into work today for a bit.  I work in a research lab and here is one of the microscopes that we use.  If you look at the bottom of the 'scope, you'll see an old Nikon D70 camera attached!

Day 315: Work work work

My husband has a very heavy load at work these days....so much so that some of it has to be done at home.  Hopefully this is a temporary situation!

Day 314: Trip planning

We are planning a trip down to the Caribbean in December - cannot wait!  Here is some newly-acquired gear!

Day 313: Xmas shopping

Yes....the Christmas shopping has begun!  We normally don't start too early....but we will be going away in December for a week and so I wanted to get as much done as possible before our trip.  These 'men' are the accessories for a set of airplanes and helicopter that I got for my nephew.

Day 310: A beautiful day

The temperature got up to 14 degrees Celsius today - downright balmy for November!  We enjoyed a long walk through Lion's Valley Park and took in all the Fall colours. 

Day 309: Daylight savings ends

We turn our clocks back tonight to end daylight savings...so we'll get an extra hour tomorrow!  Yay!
I tried some light painting here.....didnt have too much time to play around with it....but will definitely be trying more of it in the future.  It's so much fun to do!

Day 308: Fall Colours and Golden light

Went for a walk in the park after work today.  The reflection of the trees in the pond, together with the soft evening light afforded some nice photographic opportunities.

I brought my point and shoot to work today....just for fun.  I took a shot through the window, trying to capture the sunrise.  Not the greatest shot, but oh well.

It was a beautiful day today, so we went for a walk down by the lake.

A friend of mine celebrated her 40th birthday by throwing a bash at a local golf club.  A good time was had by all!

One of the assignments for our photography class was to take images of things in the environment that resembled all the letters of the alphabet.  This is what I came up with.

Day 283: Happy Thanksgiving!

We celebrated Thanksgiving at our place this year.  So much food! 

Day 280: New point and shoot

We picked up a new point and shoot camera to replace our old one, so I took it for a walk down to the harbour.  It was such a nice sunny day too!
