Day 90: Aww nuts!

Why is it that when you buy a jar of mixed nuts, there is never enough of the 'good' ones!

Day 89: Repetition #2

Continuing my theme of repetition today.  This time with the spiral binding of a notebook.

Day 88: Repetition

I thought the banister by the stairs made an interesting repetitive pattern.

Day 87: Spent

Needed some lemon juice for a salad dressing.  I liked the star pattern that was left in the remains. 

Day 86: Catch the light

Back to the gerbera daisies again today.  I liked the way the sun was shining in on them through the window.

Day 85: Watch the birdie

Even though the sun was shining, it was still quite cold outside today.  Spent some time down by the lake taking pics of birds.  When my hands started getting numb I knew it was time to go home!  

Day 84: Sweet tooth

Tried these Werther's caramel chocolates for the first time - OMG they are soo good!  In trying to take the photo that I had 'in my mind', I went through about 3 of these chocolates.  What can I say...I'm such a dedicated photographer!  Haha.

Day 83: shells

Nothing too exciting today.  Just a box...covered in shells.  I don't remember where I got this box from, but I use it now to store some jewellery.

Day 82: Nooooo!!

Yep....got more of the white stuff today.  Came home from work...opened the front door and took this shot.  We usually get at least one snowstorm in March...and I'm hoping that this will be the very last one of the year!

Day 80: Leader of the pack

My husband took apart an old hard drive and these tiny screws were lying on the table - so I put them to some use!

Day 79: Happy Spring!

Had to commemorate the first day of Spring with a flower!  I'm sure these gerbera daisies I picked up today will be making a few more appearances on my blog in the near future!

Day 78: A day downtown

I had to go into work today (in downtown Toronto) for a little bit.  Met up with my sister afterward and we spent the afternoon walking around taking pictures.  Also grabbed a snack at 'Jumbo Empanadas' in Kensington Market.  A good time was had by all!

Day 77: Cheat shot

I have to admit that I took this shot earlier this week.  No time (or energy) today for photography, so this is a 'cheat shot'.  It is a close-up of condensation on aluminum foil.  I liked the irregularly shaped water drops and how they all fit together.  This is in colour...even though it looks as though I've converted it to black and white.

Day 76: A splash of colour

Something colourful for today.  These are chocolate and candy-coated sunflower seeds.  I had never seen them before, and picked them up....not so much to taste...but more to photograph!

Day 74: Sandpainting

Traditional sandpaintings of the Navajo Native Americans of the U.S. Southwest are used in healing ceremonies.  Commercially-produced ones like this one are sold as souvenirs and contain purposeful errors as the real ones are considered sacred.

Day 73: Last light

With the daylight saving time change this weekend - there is more sunshine to enjoy after work these days.  Went for a small walk to a nearby park this evening - caught just enough sunlight for some pics!

Day 72: Say cheese!

Didn't really want to post another 'food shot', since I just posted one yesterday, but I tried out a new recipe today, that was really really good!  Baked ziti (although I used another kind of pasta) with Italian sausage and three different kinds of cheese.  The recipe is from the Simply Recipes website (has some great recipes), and can be found here.

Day 71: Saturday evening dinner

Our usual Saturday evening dinner:  Grilled fish, steamed veggies and potatoes.  Enjoyed with a nice glass of wine.

Day 70: Peppery

A while back I posted a macro shot of some table salt.  Was wondering what a close-up of ground pepper would look like.  Now I know!

Day 69: Planning ahead

Trying to plan a trip to Newfoundland this summer.  It's nice to think ahead of all the different places we'll visit and all the (hopefully) great photos that we'll get!  

Day 68: Ugh!

Nothing creative for today unfortunately.  The weather today was soo messy!  Snow combined with rain...and more on the way.  Here's the forecast for the next little while.

Day 67: Rosebud

Day 66: Stripes

Was able to leave work early today and catch the sun shining through the blinds...making a striped pattern on the leaves of this plant.

Day 65: Spice it up

Went to the local Indian grocery store today to update my stock of spices.  Made a big batch of chicken curry that I will portion out and freeze for future meals.

I was washing up some dirty pots and pans when I noticed this pattern on the underside of a frying pan.
