Some juicy strawberries...to take my mind off the fact that it's snowing outside...yet again.  Feels like winter will never end!

I was walking through the kitchen when the shadow of the fruit bowl caught my eye.  After playing around with some lighting, I came up with this.

Condensation on the plastic cover of a dish of rice that I took out of the fridge.

My husband brought home a 'surprise' for me this evening- some yummy treats from a cupcake shop near his work.

Day 53: My new toy!

Got an e-reader for my birthday this past weekend.  It came with a few books already on it.  This should come in handy on my commute to and from work everyday!

Day 52: Worn and weathered

Got today off since it was 'Family Day'.  Went out to an all-you-can-eat sushi place for lunch, followed by a walk in the forest by the house.  The image shows part of an old, broken-down iron fence that still exists in the forest....from some time long ago when there was an orchard, instead of a forest.

Will be going to see the Toronto Symphony Orchestra tonight.  One of my husband's Christmas gifts to me.  The program will feature music of Dvorak.  
To make this image, I placed the tickets onto some old sheet music of mine (for trumpet).  The piece: Largo from "New World Symphony" by Antonin Dvorak!

This old, yellowing book, along with some others were headed for the trash - via my father-in-law.  But I was able to 'rescue' them!  I will keep a few to read myself, and donate the rest to charity.  As my sister said when she heard about this incident, 'books don't go bad'!  Haha.

Went for a walk down by the lake.  Was hoping to see some birds...but this little guy was the most interesting thing there!

I decided that for the month of February, I will try to post images that express some of the themes of Valentine's day....love, hearts, etc.  Just to make things a little challenging for myself....and to try and come up with some novel and interesting photos.  So for today: some yummy chocolate cookies!
