An old family photo album.  Scratched up and falling apart.  I am in the process of scanning the photos so as to have a digital backup...which will eventually be made into a photo book...one day!

I do read books that are a little more substantial (haha) - but this series of 'shopaholic' books was a fun read! 

Day 27: You spin me right round

A spinning penny.  Was feeling quite uninspired as to what to photograph....then I started playing with the penny - and had such a fun time!

I was going to snack on some cheese...then I remembered about the apple pie!  They go really well together!

It was -20 degrees Celsius today...downright frigid!  I cannot wait for some warmer weather....and the first flowers of Spring.  Fow now...these cloth flowers in the powder room will have to do.

Day 19: Memories of the East Coast

When my husband and I travel, we will often bring home a few rocks...as souvenirs.  This silvery rock - from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia - has some neat jagged edges, that I tried to capture here.

Day 18: Bubbles!!

Day 17: Art history

My husband likes collecting things.  Me?  Not so much.  To each his own.  I thought this series of Czech stamps portraying different artists looked kind of neat.

Day 16: Berry-licious!

I usually save the smoothie-making for warmer weather - but I had a package of frozen berries, with the 'new' addition of sweet and sour cherries that I really wanted to taste!

Day 15: Patience

Visited with my parents today.  One of the many hobbies my dad has taken up during his retirement includes unit origami, where many small pieces of paper (or 'units') are folded the same way and assembled into various forms.  This takes a lot of patience, to say the least!   

Day 14: TGIF!

It's been a long day...a long week actually.  So glad it's the weekend!

Day 10: If only there were more hours in a day

I really enjoy making photo books like these - I just wish I had more time to work on them.  If anyone is interested, I used software from "blurb.com" to make these books, and am quite happy with the results.

Day 9: Back into the swing of things

I think I'm finally out of "holiday mode" and back into my normal schedule of things.  Part of my usual Sunday routine involves cutting up some veggies and dividing them into 10 sandwich bags...that my husband and I will then take to work - along with our lunches - during the week.  It's one easy way to eat more veggies!

Nearby our house, there's a forest where my husband and I spend lots of time  - we enjoyed a nice, long walk this afternoon.

Day 7: The sweets of life

Picked up these cookies from a Polish supermarket.  I'd been saving a few to photograph, but cannot keep them around much longer!  You know what they say: "Life is uncertain.  Eat dessert first"!

Day 6: Looking outside

I was initially going to photograph some of the falling snow outside.  Opened the window blinds and noticed the lights on the tree out front.  I think it makes a funky abstract image!

Day 5: The peacock plant

Stayed home again today with my bad back.  At least I feel a bit better than yesterday.  Tomorrow I'm off to work - and this 'project 365' challenge will really start!  Today the sun was shining again...right through the leaves of this houseplant.  I really like the intricate pattern on its leaves. 

Day 4: Let the sunshine in

I somehow managed to throw my back out and had to stay home from work today.  At least I got to enjoy the bright afternoon sunshine coming into the house - making the Christmas tree ornaments all sparkley!  A few more days to enjoy the tree...before packing it up until next year.

Day 3: I love my new camera!

Visited the Butterfly Conservatory at the Niagara Botanical Gardens.  Flowers and butterflies in January!  The D7000 is amazing!  What a difference compared to my old D40.  Had a lot of fun today.

Day 2: Cold and grey

Coronation Park, Oakville, Ontario.  Light flurries.  12:30pm and very deserted.
